Bridging Program

During the Fall 2009 Nova Scotia College of Early Childhood Education (NSCECE) entered into a collaborative project with Metropolitan Immigrant Settlement Association and Halifax Immigrant Learning Centre (MISA/HILC) now known as Immigrant Settlement & Integration Services (isis) to support our second language learners.
Some of the goals of this Bridging Program for early childhood educators include:
- Increased confidence of ECE staff with issues related to ESL
- Increased confidence of newcomers
- Increased knowledge of Canadian workplace values and culture
- Development of student’s professional network
- Quicker employment for newcomer ECEs
- Increased language skills (verbal and writing)
